I just want to tell you how I get to know Paramore, and what I think about music.
I’m a drummer, since I was born, music has been around me, my father listened to music while my mom was cooking in the kitchen, she sings every time she can and it doesn’t matter the type of music. When I was around 10 years I started taking piano lessons during the evenings, and everything changed when I had the chance to choose a second instrument, it was percussions, I felt the sounds, the beat in my chest, the bass drum giving the pace of the rhythm, it started feeling like a second heart beat that paired with my heart as one, after that I left piano and started playing drums almost exclusively, sometimes I play guitar but just go write songs or to fit melody into the rhythm of drums.
around 2010 we bought a used truck, and inside of the stereo was a cd with a butterfly, I saw it and I was curious to hear the music, and as soon as it started it blown my mind, it was Brand new eyes, I was so in shock with your voice, and the drums!, as a musician discovering your music was a wave of power out of the speakers directly to me. I’m 41 now, in the moment I heard the CD I was about 30 or so. in your lyrics I have found something deep, pieces of your feelings, of your soul. and that’s fine! that happens when you write and release part of you in the lyrics.
I just want to say that I´m your fan, I love what you have done all the time,
When you released After laughter, it was interesting good, very good to be honest, so different, it felt to me, like seeing the other side that you regularly don´t let everyone to know. after that, everyone in the industry started playing like late 80s or early 90s bands. and you were the first, the one that opened the chance to retake that sounds of that era.
Keep going, keep writing as you do, keep doing what you love, if you stop is OK, but resume as soon as you are fine to continue, my thought has always be, if I’m happy with what I’ve doing I’m doing the right thing.
Musicians (and artist in general) evolve, do things according to how we feel and how we react after the environment (people, situations, etc.) the only difference is that we can write it and expose it, leave those feelings in the lyrics and remember it and feel it again every time we sing or listen to that song.
